In an article posted at the Chappell Hill Museum, it mentions that Edward Simpson Buck was killed at Hempstead, Texas over abolitionists sentiments on March 4, 1865. Do you know the circumstances of his death? His half sister Emeline Waggoner Howth married my ggggrandfather William Keesee after the death of his first wife Mary Chappell.
