Searching for any information regarding the parents of Jane Octavia Smith, b. 1825 Duplin, NC , m. Kilby Bass; her sisters Elizabeth Ann Smith b. abt 1827 NC, m. Charles H. Cooper, and Julia Smith, b. abt. 1830, m. Henry Bowden. All three sisters moved to Texas sometime around 1850. both Kilby and Jane died before 1860 and will was probated in Washington County, TX. Elizabeth and Julia were on 1860 census with their husbands in Washington County, Texas. At least one researcher has posted Julia as being the daughter of James Smith and wife Sarah _______. If you have any information at all, especially as to location of any of the three sisters on the 1850 census, I would like to hear from you.
