Cousin Randy,
James Walker who died in 1836 in Washington Co. lived previously in Barren County, Kentucky and was born in Orange County, Virginia, the son of Thomas Walker Jr.
His father or Grandfather is Thomas Walker who died in 1767 in Orange County,Va and descendents later migrated to Giles, Orange WV/VA.
This is the Walker line my Missouri Hewletts married into!
This Walker line has been published in 2 books; June Ashworth in 1996 and the other a Walker whose material is referenced quite frequently in the Ashworth book. It sold for $30 plus $3 shipping & handling.

Thomas Walker the Progenitor had 3 sons, Thomas Jr, James and Charles.
Thomas Jr had sons named Thomas, James and Charles such that Thomas Walker Junior has a son, a cousin, a nephew and Uncle all named Thomas Walker!!
This same scenario is fitting for the James's and Charles.
However, you might have better luck looking for the spelling of Stephens as Stevens.
A son or brother in law is Phillip Singleton and Lucretia Walker Bell who married Silas Bell. The Ashworth book is 992 pages and very well indexed!

Happy Hunting!
Your Hewlett-Walker Cousin
Jean
