Winters, Aug 30 ----Funeral for Prue Benson Martin, 72, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the family home in the Eagle Branch community.

Mr. Martin was born in June 1882 in Iuka, Miss., and came to Hill County when a boy. In 1905 he moved to Runnels County, settling in the Eagle Branch community.

His survivors are a brother, Paul Martin, and a sister, Miss Lula Martin, both of the Eagle Branch community.

I do not have a date on any obits...but I also an article on Lula and Paul Hodge Martin, sibs of Prue,"Frail Miss Annie Lula Martin laid helpless where she had fallen in the farm home she shared with her brother from Thursday until Saturday morning, unable to tell anyone her brother was dead. The brother, Paul Hodge Martin, 76, one of Runnels County's prominent land owners, died Thursday evening, according to Justice of the Peace E. H. Baker, apparently the victim of a heart attack." It goes on to say that Mr. Martin was found on the floor beside the dining table. Miss Martin was found in a hallway...she was his only survivor except for cousins... "all five brothers were bachelors." (I believe there may have been more siblings that the paper didn't know about) Annie Lula died the following week...also have that obit.

I have found his parents in 1880 Iuka, Tishomingo County, Mississippi, p. 68A listed below:
S. S. Martin 45 SC SC SCFARMER
M. P. 35 SC SC SC -wife
James H. 12 MS SC SC - son
L. A. 9 MS SC SC - dau
J. R. 6 MS SC SC - son
B. M. 4 MS SC SC - son

Since these obits were in the possession of my husband's grandmother, Lillie Mae Martin, I wonder if they are kin.
Any information anyone can supply would be greatly appreciated.
