Seeking information on Joel Collinsworth, b. ca 1832 AL (maybe Pike County), d. unknown TX, and his descendants. He and his family were listed on 1860, 1870, & 1880 Nacogdoches Co., TX, census records.
It appears he may have had two wives, but it's hard to determine if the Lucy A. in 1860 (Louisa A. in 1870) and Loucenda in 1880 are the same woman or different women.
By his wife or wives, he had James M., Sarah Amanda, Marietta A., Julia, and Guss Collinsworth. There may have been another child that died young.
The 1880 census record also lists Charles Collinsworth, age 2, as a "step-son." I would like to know if he really was adopted and who his parents actually were, as I don't think the term "step-son" is correct. Loucenda was already 56-years old, so I doubt she had a child at 54.
I am trying to help a cousin of mine with his Collinsworth line. Any help would be much appreciated.
