I am researching S.L. Glassford. His first name was Samuel. He was born in Kentucky around 1827-1831. He was in Denton, Texas in 1859-1863 found on Census.

He was part of the 29TH TEXAS CAVALRY, Confederate States Army enlisting in Denton County, Texas.

It appears he was in Tarrant County, Texas in 1855 based on a "note" he had against an estate in that time frame.

He was in Cameron, Texas in Milam County, Texas in 1900.

This is his obit:
Cameron Herald, Thur., 10 Sept 1903

Death - Sam Glassford, age about 77, an ex-Confederate soldier, died at the Buford hotel last Friday morning and was buried in the allotted ground in Oak Hill cemetery. He had been in ill health for several years. Cameron had been his home for some 20-years.

Do you have any information about this Glassford? Who was his parents, wife etc.
