Looking for info on my Alexander family: Brazine Alexander (paternal grt grandmother) - I don't know her maiden name or my grt grandfather's name. Brazine's children were: Mitchell Alexander, Sr. (my grandfather) Emma Alexander Fisher Alexander Lessil Alexander (may be spelled wrong in the census - may be Leslie) Jacob Alexander (all of the above except Mitchell were listed in the 1910 Panola, TX census. According to this census Brazine was born in LA) Mitchell Alexander, Sr. married Minnie Evelina Richardson 1909 - 1974 and had five children, all born in Texas: Mitchell Alexander, Jr. (my father) 1926 Minnie Rose Alexander 1928 Eddie Pearl Alexander 1930 Doris Mae Alexander 1931 Clarence Edward Alexander 1932 This family settled in Midland between 1935 to 1942. My great grandmother Polly (White) Richardson Durham 1881 - 1968 (Minnie's mom), married a man named Durham after her first husband, Matthew Richardson died. Polly and ? Durham had one son, Julius Durham who was born May 20, 1918 in Ennis, TX and moved to Midland in 1934. I don't know what Durham's first name was and my dad does not remember. Julius had several children from marriage to Lillie (Warren) Durham of Shreveport, LA and settled in Midland after he got out of the Army: Ernest Ray Durham Julius Durham, Jr. Judy Durham Linda Durham Lillie Rose Durham Sharon Durham Gladys Durham Carl Durham Some of my elder cousins told me that they called Mitchell, Sr. by the nickname "Monk". My dad and aunt Doris say that they barely remember him because he left when they were very young. Any information you have or might share on my family members will be appreciated. Thank you - Michelle |
