I am searching for family members of the Wolf family of AR who came to Llano, Bosque, Earth, Burnet, and Coryell counties of Texas in what was known as the Adams Wagon Train of 1876. The Adams and Wolf family were intermarried. Some family members moved on west toward Cohoma and some went south toward Pearsall. I noticed a story about the sons of Rev George W. Wolf, Hiram and Washington, being killed and/or captured by Indians in an incident between the Llano and Colorado Rivers. It did not give a date, so I do not know when it took place but Hiram is definitely a family name I am familiar with. It stated that Mr. Wolf was a Methodist preacher. I know that some of my Wolf family were found in the area on the 1880 census: Asa M. Wolf and his wife Myra and their children. Malinda Wolf, mother of Asa M and I am supposing widow of my George Washington Wolf as he was not mentioned, was on 1880 census along with her daughter, Amanda Wolf, sister to Asa M. Wolf. Asa M. Wolf also had uncles George W. Wolf and James M. Wolf found in Earth county in 1880. They were decorated Civil War veterans from AR service to the CSA. Any leads to any Wolf family would be greatly appreciated.
