La Salle County was organized and the first election was held in 1880. The first sheriff took office 01 Jan 1881. Mike O'Meara would have been a deputy after that time. The first Deputation Record is not available. The deed records show Mike O'Meara first bought lots in the town of Cotulla in early 1883. He disposed of all lots, land and cattle in 1887 and early 1888. There is no record after 31 Jan 1888. Nora
