Ellen was one of a large family born on a plantation in FL, now Marianna. Her parents, owning many slaves, died during the war. The younger kids went onto school and college.
In coming out of FL, she lived in New Orleans, eventually reaching Galveston. They later arrived at their destination of Simmsport; named after a man who lived near Ellen's father's plantation in FL.
Ellen and her brothers lived with the Kings in East TX for two years, and Thomas and Ellen were not married yet, as he had not come to TX.
Ellen lived in Ft Worth for a period of time, which must of been before she married Thomas Bradwell. Ft. Worth is where she saw the first train come in to the depot.
After Thomas and Ellen were married, they decided to go into the sheep and goat business. They did not have a lot of money in those days, but by watching their pennies, the dollars took care of themselves. Making their home on a sheep ranch near Cisco, TX, which is west of Cleburne, Johnson/Ellis, County TX, their ranch was miles and miles away from anything.
I cannot locate a date of death, or place of burial for either.
I have no further data to share.
