I have just recently tracked a branch of my family to Kirbyville, Jasper Co., Texas.

Elijah Atchley was born Oct, 1858 in TN. He married Martha M. "Mattie" Parker between 1880-1889, probably around Dallas, Tarrant, or Hill Co., Texas. He was a 7th Day Adventist preacher. He died in Kirbyville on Dec 30, 1921. The informant on his death certificate was Mrs W. H. (Zella or Cella) Jamerson, who was his daughter. Her address was listed as being in Kirbyville, and on the certificate, it stated that he had lived there for 2 years. I am hopeful that someone has access to a 1920 census of Jasper Co.,and they could find these folks for me. Mattie, Elijah's wife, died in 1934 in California. I believe that she probably moved there after Elijah died, so she should be found on the 1920 census with him. Elijah was buried up in North Texas in Keene, Johnson Co., near the 7th day Adventist Church University.

If anyone can help me, I'd sure appreciate it! Please write me directly, and post to the forum.
