Jackie,

I'm not sure how much help this will be, but I found James R. Ashley living in Jackson Co on the 1910 Census. I am researching Confederate soldiers buried in Jackson Co. There is also a listing for a George W. Woods, 21 years old. I didn't find another listing for an older George W. Woods. James R. Ashley was living with his son, George W. Ashley, and his second wife, Minerva. Minerva stated that she had 9 children, 7 of them still living. James and Minerva had been married 52 years.

Do you know whether or not James R. Ashley is the one shown on the muster roll of Confederate soldiers from Robeson Co, NC, as James ROBERSON Ashley, Co. F, 51st NC?
