I have some more information for you but still do not know if he was born in Henderson Co. TX. My grandmother eventually was his step-mother and she was born in Henderson Co. TX. His mother was Rhonda B. (1876 -1917) buried in the same cemetery in Emory,Rains Co. TX

James A. Byram
Dec. 12, 1910 – April 12, 1945
Died in Service of Our Country in Germany
T/SGT Inf. 36th Div.
(Note: A person that knew this family personally said his name was “Bud” Byram. In 1920 Rains Co. TX census, his name is listed as “Adolph”. His father was also Ad. J. Bryam and suspect his father’s name was also “Adolph” – a very unpopular name in those days.)
On the Rains Co. TX site, there is this notation:
World War II
The following men from Rains County, Texas served in the military during W. W. II. A memorial to them, which was erected by the Rains County VFW Post #9170 in 1964, stands on the courthouse square. The names in italics have military markers in the cemetery listed after their names.
BYRAM, James A. (12/12/1910 - 04/12/1945): Smyrna Cemetery; listed World War II Honor List of Dead & Missing - Texas, War Dept, June 1946 as "dead, non-battle"
