Pat, in an older thread you mentioned your father knew Johnny B. Taylor very well, and I was wondering if this is Jr. or Sr.? I am married to the Senior's grandson, Roosevelt Taylor Jr. We moved here from Houston in 2002 with our 3 children, and we live near Johnny B's widow, Johnny B. Jr, and the Lacy's. If it's still true that you have left California to move here, we could be neighbors! If that is the case, I look forward to meeting you and perhaps sharing notes, pictures, and stories. I am an English professor at Wiley College, and you may reach me at work by calling (903)927-3276.

I am working on family research in many areas that tie to Harrison County, especially old school houses in Hallsville and Marshall, plantation owners, slave records, and cemeteries. My husband's people are Taylors, Bechtolds, Lacy's and Dixons, but I'm also researching connections to the Womack, Harrison, Vanderslice, Bolding, and Muntz families. I'm glad I discovered this site, and I apologize if I've posted incorrectly. This is my first time here!
