I'm searching for information on William Longworth, b. ca. 1829 in Canada. He is found in Gonzales County 1860 in the community of Rancho. In the home are his wife, Sarah, 29 years old, born in Ireland. Thomas, 11 years old, born in LA.; John, 9 years old, born in LA.; William, 4 years old, born in LA.; Esther, 2 years old, born in Texas and George, one month old, born in Texas.
In 1870, we find William Longworth (age 45) in Wilson County living in the early community of Lodi (now a part of Floresville). His son, George, nine years old, is the only immediate family in the household. Sarah, Thomas, William, John and Esther are not found in the home. After 1873 and a 160 acre land transaction, I find no further trace of William Longworth.
The son, Thomas, is found in Lincoln County, New Mexico in 1880 working as a constable. Another son, George, died in Maricopa County, Arizona February 5, 1937 and is buried in the Camelback Cemetery in that county. George' death certificate confirmed his birth as 1860 in Wilson County, Texas.
I am working with a committee in Wilson County to locate photographs of all past County Judges to hang in our county courthouse. William Longworth served as County Judge of Wilson County, Texas in 1865 and again in 1869. I need to locate descendants of William Longworth or a county archives who might have a photo of this man and would share with our county.
