I would like to know who Fisher County was named for. Have some people in my research that had last name of Fisher. James Ratliff was born 1780 in Virginia & died April 25, 1853 in Luling, Caldwell County, TX. He married Sarah Fisher before 1810. She was born 1786 in Virginia and died after 1856 in Caldwell County, TX. Job(e) Ratliff was born 1782 in Virginia and died after 1870 in Florence, Williamson County, TX. He married Agnes 1805 in Virginia. She was born 1783 in Virginia and died 1860 in Florence, Williamson County, TX. Am still trying to find out what her last name is~~wonder if it's possible that it's Fisher. Job(e) and Agnes named their 4th child Joseph Fisher Ratliff~~possible that his middle name is her maiden name??? Also, possible that her and Sarah could be sisters??? Thompson Ratliff was born 1798 in Virginia or Illinois and died between 1860 & 1870 in Florence, Williamson County, TX. He married Mary Polly Fisher 1819, daughter of James Fisher and Delilah Dameron. She was born 1800 in SC or Illinois and died after 1860 in Florence, Williamson County, Texas.
