I am searching for Ida Blanch Harry descendants. Her parents were John T. and Martha J. (Alexander) Harry of
Mecklenburg Co., NC. IDA was born about 1857 in YORK CO.,
SC. The family is in the 1870 census for DeSoto Co., MS. IDA is 13 yrs of age.

Martha J. (Alexander) Harry, IDA's mother, died in 1857 in
YORK CO., NC. John Thomas Harry remarried a cousin of hers, Susan (Rachel) Dorcas Shelby in March 1858. Martha J. parents were: Daniel and Susannah (Shelby) Alexander of Mecklenburg Co., NC. John and Susan had several ch:

Julian M., June, Romulus, Mary Lee, Nannie Belle, Ralph
Shelby...all HARRYs.

John T. Harry was a prof. at Davidson College in Mecklenburg Co. (now Davidson Co.), NC, when they married
at Davidson College.

The next Census which I have is for 1900 in TRAVIS, FALLS
COUNTY, TEXAS. Ida Blanche Harry would have been about 43,
and prob. married if living. Married name is, of course,
not known, if any. Ida is not on this census in 1900 with
her Harry family.

I BELIEVE IN LONG SHOTS, and this one is no exception.

Thanks a bunch. Mac Alexander of Cypress, TX.
