I have satisfied myself that my John Edward Braziel is a son of John M. Braziel. I believe the following info will shed light on the answer to your question about the parentage of John M.

U.S. and International Marriage Records, 1560-1900 about B. J. Breazeale
Name:       B. J. Breazeale
Gender:       Male
Birth Place:       GA
Birth Year:       1819
Spouse Name:       Mary ???
Marriage Year:       1845
Number Pages:       1

<even though this is "B.J." instead of "J.B.", the ancestry site seems to think it's the same person, and the birth year & place, and wife name fits.>
<I wonder why there is no marriage location>

[1859] Land Records
“Whereas Job B. Brazill of Jasper County Mississippi …. “
Purchasing 40 acres and twelve hundredths of an acre of land registered for sale in Augusta, MS
Land was in Choctaw, Jasper, MS
Dated: 2 May 1859

[1860] MS Land Records
Job B. Braziel purchased land in Choctaw, Jasper, MS
Dated: 1 Apr 1860

1860 Census - Jasper Co., MS
Brazeele, J.B., aged 42, with wife Mary, also 42, and family, including a son, J.M., age 13.

[1861-1865 - Civil War]
U.S. Civil War Soldier Records and Profiles
J.B. Brazile Enlisted in Company B, Mississippi 5th Infantry Regiment

1866 MS State Census (Jasper Co.)
Braziel, Job B. - 2 males 0-10 / 4 males 10-20 / 1 male 40-50 / 1 fem 10-20 / 1 fem 40-50 / 1 free black male 20-30
(This corresponds to known family members, including his wife Mary b.abt 1818 and his son J.M. b.abt 1847)

1870 Census - Attala Co., MS
Bracciale, J.B., aged 51, with wife Mary, also 51, and family, including son John M., age 25, and Martha and Mollie - John's wife and daughter.

<according to the 1900 & 1910 censuses, John and Martha were married in 1868, so the Martha who is living with the family and aged 24 in the 1870 census must have been John's wife, and Mollie is probably their daughter "M.E." in the 1880 census.>

1880 Census - Attala Co., MS (dated 14 Jun 1880)
J.M. & Martha Brazel (both age 34) and family, including son J.E., age 7

also

1880 Census - Madison Co., MS (dated 3 June 1880)
Frank Brazile is head of household, with his brothers William, Lock and Hugh, and his widowed mother Mary, aged 59, b.SC, father b.Scotland, mother b.NC.

[since the 1880 census with Mary was dated 3 June 1880, and she was listed as a widow, J.B. must have died within only a few days of the census, as the record of his death below says he died in June 1880.]

[1880]
U.S. Federal Census Mortality Schedules Index
J.B. Brazile (farmer) b.GA, d.Jun 1880-Madison Co., MS (heart disease) aged 59.

I have not discovered the maiden name of John's wife Martha. Some trees have her as Martha McGuire, however I think this is incorrect.

This is what I've put together. Contact me for more details.
