I'm looking for information on Mary Ann Johnson Tibbets. She was born around 1844 in AR. She married my gg grandfather Martin Van Buren Tibbets in Cooke County, Texas, on 3 Feb 1860. On the 1860 census the are still in Cooke County, Texas and were reported at the Gainesville Post Office. We know that Martin and Mary Ann had a son named George W. Tibbets born 1862. According to his death certificate, he was born 22 Aug 1862 in Viola, Texas. I'm assuming that's the Viola located in Cass County, Texas.

Here's where I lose Mary Ann. Martin enlisted in the Confederate Army in 1864 and mustered out in 1865. Then on the 1870 Census, Martin VanBuren Tibbets is back in Arkansas without George, and is married to another woman. I find George again in 1890 still living in Texas.

I've found something that has me a little puzzled. On the 1990 census, living with George and his wife, are Mary Seabolt and William H. Seabolt, who it lists as mother and brother to head of household.

Does anyone have any information on Mary Ann? Who were her parents? What happened to her? Did she die after George was born or did Martin leave her and George after the war? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
