Pioneer Mother is Buried Here Sunday
Fuenral services were held here Sunday, 3:00pm at the Church of Christ, for Mrs. W. H. Ransberger, pioneer wife and mother. Interment was made in the Coleman Cemetery. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee, June 7, 1860 and died April 1st, 1939 at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 7 days.
Before her marriage to W.H. Ransberger, Nov. 6, 1879 in Waxahachie, she was Miss Belle Thompson. They moved to coleman county in 1901, and a few years later settled on a farm just norht of Coleman, where they has cince lived.
Surviving are her husban, four sons, Watler, R.T., Paul and Clyde and two daughters, Pearl and Bessie, also nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. The children were all present for the funeral, except her daughter Pearl, who is now Mrs. Oscar Rea of Hubbard, who was unable to attend on account of sickness.
The funeral servies were conducted by Rev. Smith of Abilene. pallbeareres were: Ralph Stubblefield, John McKinney, Ross Russell, J. M. McDowell, D.D. Knight and Frank Rogers.
The flower girls were: Dale Curry, Frances Ransberger, Pauline Bailey, Dorothy Thompson, Mar Lee bozeman and Ruth Hambright.
Relatives attending from out of town were: Charley Chapman of Houston; Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Thompson and son Gerald of Waxachie; Oscar Rea of Hubbard.
Funeral arrangements were in charge of Horne Funeral Directors.
