I grew up in Chambers County, and have done research in the county as well. I recognized some of your surnames that you've posted. If you don't already know of these sources, check these out. A book "Chambers County, a Pictorial History" by Kevin Ladd, and a lady I can't remember the name of. It has alot of pictures as well as text on very early settlers and families of Chambers County.
Additionally, there is a Genealogy Library off Interstate 10 in Wallisville, Texas, that has alot of books and info of Chambers County. They also are currently going over all the records in the Chambers County Courthouse, like marriage etc., and entering into a database. It is also ran by the author of the above book....Kevin Ladd. He is very knowledgeable of the early families. The phone number is 409-389-2252.
If anyone has any questions, I'll try to answer them. Good Luck! And as always if anyone can help me with my surnames of Chambers County people let me know. Gatlin, Harding/Hardung, Trammell, Wilson, Peacock, Pope, McElvain.
