You say you found her on the 1900 and 1910 census, but you didn't give that information.

1910 census Cass Co, TX:

Crise, Mary[sic], h, 55 M (2), 2 ch, 2 lvg, b AL, AL, SC
Oran, Snead, son, 19, sgle, b TX, TN, AL

1900 census Delta Co, TX:

Crise, Nancy, h, b Oct 1853, 46 wid, 2 ch, 2 lvg, b AL, AL, SC
Crise, [not clear, begins with S.] middle initial S., b Sept 1890, 9, b TX, IL, AL

1880 census Calhoun Co, AL, here she is the widow Turner living with her parents et al:

Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace
Harrison WINDHAM Self M Male W 50 GA Farmer SC SC
Irena WINDHAM Wife M Female W 54 SC Keeping House SC SC
Ann WINDHAM Dau S Female W 22 AL GA SC
Louisa WINDHAM Dau S Female W 20 AL GA SC
Nancy TURNER Dau W Female W 24 AL GA SC
Cassie TURNER GDau S Female W 6 AL GA SC
John TURNER GSon S Male W 1 AL GA SC

Sorry, I also couldn't find a DC for Nancy/Mary on the "state wide" TX Dth Idx thru 1976. I tried Crise dying near the date you had, Crise born about the time Nancy was born, any female with father named Windham & mother named Butler; then just maiden name of Windham and the various options as to when or where born etc. Nothing. This was about the time of the big flu epidemic and she may not have gotten recorded. I have a gr grandfather who died in 1918 in Iowa. I have a picture of his headstone, a copy of his obituary, but no DC at the county or the state level.

Since Nancy was in Cass Co, TX in 1910 and you have the full date of her death in 1917, have you looked for an obituary for her?

Happy Hunting (^_^)
