Sandra, you could be right about her name being Kesira. All the info I have from others that have her in their line also have Hesira. So guess its a flip of the coin.
I have looked at her name on the 1870 census and by the way he wrote her name it could be either one.
Thanks for taking an interest as I have about hit the brick wall. In the Book titled "The Promised Land " by James White in 1941, there is a paragraph that says Willis Johnson helped a 16 year old girl run away with a cowboy around 1880 or 1881. My grandmother Dannie Mae Johnson, was born 10 Nov 1881. Her father was A.C. Johnson and that is why we believe Hesira or Kesira could be my Great grandmother but cant prove it. All of the past 50 years or so, the family says my grandmother, Dannie Mae Johnson, was born in OK but the census says Texas and for some bad news, the courthouse in Brownwood burnt 2 times so all the records were lost.
