I am an adoptee looking for any information on the family of William L Lee (my grandfather) who was born in Brownwood, Texas (Brown County) in 1917 to Franklin E Lee and Nancy Martin Lee. He married Minnie M Oneal and they had 4 sons. Then he married my grandmother, Loretta Byrd in 1952 and they had 3 sons and 1 daughter, my mother who was murdered in the 70's. Franklin Lee was born in Texas around 1890 (give or take a year) but his parents (names unknown) were from Mississippi, according to the 1930 census. Loretta Byrd was also born in Brown County in 1934 to Doyle S Byrd and Alvia (sp?) I Meador. I started my search with only my mother's first name, date of birth, year of death, and the first name of her two ex-husbands. I have come a long way but I still have a lot more to learn about where I come from. Although I do have the names of my mother's siblings and aunts and uncles, I have found no contact or other information on them, except for a death certificate on the oldest brother. I am interested in family history, ancestors, and if possible, contact with living family. If any of this sounds familiar at all, please contact me. I'd appreciate any information.
