Elias Valentine GUNZEL / GUENTZEL was 7 years old when he entered Texas. He, his younger sister, Catharina, and their parents were all born in Meiningen, Germany. It is believed that a grave marked 'Paula GUENTZEL', in the Industy Methodist Church (Industy, TX), is the mother of Elias and Catharina. There was a Charles GUENTZEL and a George GUENTZEL living in Austin, County by the early 1850s. I think Charles was the father of Elias and Catharina...and George was the grandfather. This i am currently researching. I do know that George GUENSEL / GUENTZEL married, in Austin county, to Teresa MARS. I would love to be in touch with GUENTZEL families, living in the USA, that migrated from Meiningen...and, GUENTZEL families that are still living in the Meiningen area of Germany.
