Am seeking proof of evidence that Dorothy Treat, b 1731 to Thomas Treat of Glastonbury CT, was the Dorothy that married Stephen Goodrich of Glastonbury. This family moved to Addison County VT after the Revolution. >>

According to my information (from "The Treat Family," by John Harvey Treat), Dorothy Treat (b. 15 April 1731, Glastonbury, CT; d. 19 July 1786, S. Glastonbury, CT) married Samuel Goodrich (b. 15 June 1729; d. 25 Oct 1777, S. Glastonbury, CT) on 27 May 1751. Her parents were Charles Treat and Sarah Gardiner; her grandparents were Thomas Treat and Dorothy Bulkley. His parents were Thomas Goodrich and Hannah Reynolds. They had 7 children, all born in Glastonbury: Daniel (b. 08 Feb 1751/52), Dorrity (b. 09 June 1755), Bathsheba (b. 21 July 1757), Samuel (b. 23 Feb 1760), Elizabeth (b. 30 Sept 1761), Rachel (b. 12 Aug 1764), and Abigail (b. 23 Oct 1768). >>

According to the Barbour Collection of Connecticut Vital Records, there were two women named Dorothy Treat born in 1731 in Glastonbury, CT.

The first was the daughter of Charles and Sarah (Gardiner) Treat:

Dorothy Treat d/o Charles and Sarah (Gardiner) Treat was born 15 Apr 1731; married Samuel-4 Goodrich (Thomas-3, Ephraim-2, William-1) on 27 May 1751, and died 19 Jul 1786, all in Glastonbury, CT.

The second was the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Hopson) Treat:

Dorothy Treat d/o Thomas and Mary (Hopson) Treat was born 18 Jun 1731. As described in the first quoted post, she is believed to have married Stephen-4 Goodrich (William-3, Ephraim-2, William-1; Stephen-4 Goodrich and Samuel-4 Goodrich, husband of the first Dorothy Treat, were first cousins) on 01 Jan 1754, which is a date taken from The Goodrich Family in America (Case-1889); her birth and marriage were both in Glastonbury, CT. Then Dorothy moved with husband Stephen to Addison County, Vermont after his Revolutionary War service in 1785 and lived there on their farm in Salisbury, Vermont until her death 19 Jan 1811, according to the inscriptions on her tombstone in Seeley Cemetery in Middlebury, Addison County, Vermont.

The two women named Dorothy Treat born in Glastonbury, CT in 1731 were first cousins (like their husbands); they were both granddaughters of Thomas and Dorothy (Bulkely) Treat, as seen in the pedigree views of the two following family trees:
(Dorothy Treat b. 15 Apr 1731 according to Barbour Collection of Connecticut Vital Records)
(Dorothy Treat b. 18 Jun 1731 according to Barbour Collection of Connecticut Vital Records)
