Desperately seeking info on Nicely line. My GR grandfather, James Caliway Nicely seems to have sprung from nowhere. We know he was born 12/25/1856 in Grainger Co, near Kingston, TN. He ran away from home at a very young age because he had a mean father. Because of that, he never said anything to anyone about his mother or his father. Although I haven't seen it, there is a TN Pension Roll listing a Caliway Nicely for a Civil War pension. Anyone know how I could track this down to see if this Caliway is a relation? Please, any scrap of info regarding the Nicely name would be most appreciated. Thank you.
