Hello, after many years of searching, I finally found a record for a Wilson Co. TN, 16 Aug 1850 marriage between Samuel S. Bowers (the middle initial could also be a "G") and Martha J. Ragland. I can't seem to find Samuel before or after in this area -- there are many, many similar names but none that match the rest of the family information that I have. I have checked the censuses and war records and so far I can only locate their son, Samuel Franklin Bowers (b. January of 1854), in Indiana in the 1880 census. If anyone has information about any of these families before or after 1850, I would be most grateful.
