Hi, I could really use some help. I am trying to fill in my Harries in early Eastern Tennessee. I think my John Baird Harris married Abigail Gragg in TN. He is the son of John Harris. My Harris family is definitely in the Territory South of French Broad. John, William, Robert M. are there with land in Blount. Think the others are cousins.

William and Robert M. (Marklin/Macklin) are brothers to John Baird. I wondered if the Craigs in that area could be the Graggs? I have seen that listed as a name variation as well as Gregg. I have also listed the Harrisons in the area and wondered if they might connect to the Graggs.

The Territory South of French Broad was settled mainly by men from Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, some from Pennsylvania.
I believe the father of my Harrises-John Harris already had land in the area.

I am now finding the Harrises in Monroe County, Tennessee. They are in Group 3 Harris DNA.

There are a few others families in French Broad that tie in as well. If any one would like to exchange info or can offer some, I would very much appreciate the help.

Thanks,
Terese Mitchell
