By virtue of a land warrant from John Armstrongs office of the State of N. Carolina No. 706 & dated the 10th day of July 1784......I have surveyed for David Craig three thousand two hundred acres of land on both sides of Bigtombigby Creek including a remarkable spring known by the name of Spencer's Spring.

Beginning at a stake in Moss Smith's field about one mile south east of said spring and
Running North nine hundred & seventy two poles to a mulberry sugartree ash & Elm
thence west crossing said Creek at the distance of three hundred & thirty two poles
the same course in all five hundred & twenty six & three fourths poles to a spanish oak & ash marked thus, H W & W C.......
thence south to a point due west of the Beginning......
