(Alexander and Mary Bean McKee had a bunch of children including several sons. There are many early posts about them on the McKee Forum early messages.)

I have posted this message some time ago on the McKee Forum and with no response there decided to post here:

Are there any male MCKEE survivors in this lineage?

If so, are there any yDNA results from male McKee descendants of this Alexander McKee?

Claims are made of descent from the McKee of Rockbridge County VA by this line. This same Alexander is said to have moved to Orange Co NC. This Alexander McKee (and some say his first cousin, a daughter of a pioneer uncle to Alexander {also a pioneer McKee descendant} wife Mary Bean) is claimed as one of the "4 or 5 or 11 brothers who came to PA" sometime in the first half of the 1700s.

This line supposedly is the same line as the McKee founder of McKeesport PA.

There were several sons born to the above Alexander and Mary McKee who lived out their life in Maury Co TN in the first half of the 1800s. Their last son was said to have been born in Sumner Co TN.

Has anyone taken the yDNA test and are the results posted? Are there any mtDNA results yet? I have both for my husband and would like to compare same with any descendants.

On Family Tree DNA we have a McKee Page / Group that is growing but still very small. The more McKee we can have take the YDNA tests the further back we go to breaking down the brick wall at the east coast and into Ireland and Scotland. You can go to the home page of FTDNA and click on Projects and then scroll down to McKee to take a look around the page at what is being done plus many other surname and special projects pages.

Thanks, Linda McKee
