I am searching for the parents of Samuel Murfree Daughtry, born about 1863/64, could be plus or minus a couple of years. He was married to Salina Womack. They married in 1886, in Coffee Co., Tn. I recently found a Delayed Birth Certificate for their son, Edgar Travis Daughtry, that shows Samuel Murfree Daughtry as born in Cannon Co., Tn. Samuel and Salina are my great, great grandparents. I have been told that Samuel Daughtry was a lawyer and teacher, and Salina was a teacher also. Samuel became ill,he could not speak above a loud whisper,so not being able to try his cases or speak publicly,he and Salina moved around to different parts of the country trying to help his health. I found them in Prarie, McDonald Missouri, in 1900. He was listed a a peddlar. I was told that they bought land in each place they stayed, but sold it when they moved again. They had a son Murphy Daughtry, that was born in Texas around 1903/04. Samuel Daughtry died in 1905. Any help is appreciated and if I can return the favor or share any information I have, I am happy to do do.
Thank you so much!
