I believe your Michael John Tierney was my uncle, one of 7 sons of Timothy and Anne Mulqueeney Tierney, who were married Sept. 5, 1857 in Kilfenora, County Clare. Baptism records at St. Fachtman's church there show Martin, first bornSept. 17, 1858; Michael, baptized Jan. 8, 1861
Others were Peter, 1865; Patrick, 1867 and James (my father) 1869.
Timothy, a weaver, died in 1871. Anne and the three younger boys came to US in 1881. I have no records on the older boys.but when Peter died in 1921, Patrick listed four brothers living in New England, but did not give names or towns.
Mujch of what I know is in a report Paul Hefti prepared foor me. It can be found at www.progenealogists.com/tierney.htm
If you have any more info on Michael and his descendants, where they lived in US, etc., I'd appreciate it.
I have been to Kilfenora sevral times, saw the old Tierney home, graveyad, etc. and met some cousins still living in Clare.
