Recently I discovered that an ancestor we always had listed as being a TERRY is actually a TIERNEY. James Carroll (b. 1834) married Elizabeth Tierney (b. 1838). James was from Ireland. Elizabeth's family was probably Irish, but she is believed to have been born in Scotland. We assume the marriage took place in Scotland. The family came to America around 1869. They settled in Frostburg, Md. Children we know of, were: Joseph, Peter, Mary, William, Alice and Eleanor. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?
