I'm not researching this branch of the Tierney family, but did a cursory check for you in the censuses. In the 1900 Kalamazoo, Nebraska (as Terney) census are:
Patrick J. Tierney, born Sep 1863 in Missouri (father born Ireland and mother born Missouri
Lotta , born Sep 1869 in Illinois, with both parents born in Germany. She and Patrick have been married 12 years (1888?) and have had 7 children, 6 which still survive in 1900. The 6 listed with them are (Lizzie 1887; Frank 1889; George 1894; Nellie 1894; Mary 1898; and John 1900). Also living with them are Patrick's brothers Andrew (born March 1874 in Missouri) and Frank (born April 1878 in Missouri) and their widowed mother Ida, born July 1840 in Missouri (she says that her father was born in North Carolina and that her mother was born in Indiana). Also living with them is widowed Elizabeth Knapp, Charlotte's mother. Elizabeth was born in Germany of Germany-born parents in May of 1830 and she says that she has had 7 children, all of whom survive by 1900.
By the 1920 Grant, Antelope, Nebraska census, there are 4 more children: Stella (1906), Grace (1909), Lee (1910), and Gertie (1915).
I did find a Tierney family in 1880 Washington, Nodaway, Missouri which could be yours:
Patrick, father, born Ireland
Edith, wife, born Missouri
and their children which includes son Patrick, born Missouri abt 1865.
Hope this helps.
