Looks like we are researching the same Tierney's -- those from Bayonne, NJ who owned the Tierney soda bottling works. Here's what I know, please let me know if you have any more info, especially working backwards. I'd love to find one of those bottles too, any ideas?
Thomas Tierney, born about 1859 in Crusheen, Co Clare, Ireland, died in 1910 or 1911, was burried June 6, 1911. Siblings -- Michael, Hugh (1849-1931), Dan, Marie and William. I know quite a bit about those brothers -- several ended up farming in Iowa. The 1910 census says Thomas emigrated in 1870. He would have only been 11 yrs old, so perhaps the parents came or in care of older siblings?
Thomas stayed in NJ and ran the soda bottling company. His wife was Mary Clark (born 1861 in NJ, died Oct 11, 1939). Her parents were born in Ireland. She had a brother named Johnny. I believe at one point the soda bottling company was called Tierney Clark Soda Bottling -- perhaps Johnny also worked in the business or was an investor.
Thomas and Mary had eight kids -- Thomas (Jan 14, 1883 - July 15, 1901), Anna Irene (Aug 22, 1884 - Dec 26, 1948, married Joe Cawley in 1911), Mary Elizabeth (born about 1887, married Cornellius O'Neil), John (born about 1999, married Kathleen Brady), Edward (born about 1890, burried Oct 7, 1957, married Mildred Foley), Joeph (born Aug 4, 1891, married Catherine Bonner and Elizabeth Sabini), Francis (born Dec 13, 1896, married Helen Hart) and William (born July 25, 1902, married Margaret Sullivan). In the 1910 census this whole family (without Thomas Jr, who had died) lived on East 18th St in Bayonne, NJ.
Anna Irene Cawley was my great grandmother.
