In the KIERNAN pedigree, that descended from Cairbre an-Daimh-Airgid, King of Orgiall of the O'Hart pedigree, there was a Tighearna ("a lord, an owner") , from whom descended O'Tighearnaighe, anglicised TIERNEY. In the TIERNEY of Ulster pedigree there was another Tighearna, that branched off the O'Neill No.1 of Tyrone pedigree. (Irish Pedigrees, by O'Hart) |
