My family of Tibbits was in the Rome-New Hartford area in the 1840's through the 1870's..and beyond?). My earliest ancestors I've found, Jonathan and Elizabeth Tibbits were born in England. Your father and grandfather are not in my database, but there probably is good chance that are families are connected..prior to Kenneth. Needs a lot more proof, though.
