Hi! My name is Kim Yarman and I know your message was posted several years ago and quite possibly your questions have been answered by now, but I will briefly tell you what I know about Blanch Thoma Miles. She was a daughter of William Thoma and Susie Roadpouch. My mother Ruth, one of four daughters of Blanch, she was my grandmother, the other daughters were Mary, Dalee, and Treva; and one son Ralph. Ruth and Treva are still living in the Mansfield area. Longevity seems to be a factor in the lives of some of the Thoma family. Grandma's parents William and Susie each lived to be over 90 years old. Grandma lived to be almost 101years old. My mother is going on 82 to and seems to be in good health, and aunt Treva is going on 84 and still enjoys bowling on Thursday nights.

Grandma Miles was saved when she was 14 years old and a devoted christian woman ever since and a member of the Brethern Church. Some time after Grandpa Miles passed away Grandma moved in with aunt Delee and live there until it became necessary to put her in a nursing home.

I never really had a chance to know Grandpa Miles, he passed away in I think 1954, when I was a small child. Knew grandma fairly well, used to visit her on a regular basis, and continued to visit her with my mother when she was in the nursing home. She was a very even tempered person, with narry an ill word for anyone that I know of. Her life was devoted to her family and God. Can't get much simpler than that. Well yea it can. Grandma went from the days of horse and buggy to man in space and the most significant change she saw in her life was going from the wax cylinder phonograph to the platter record.

Like I said earlier, I know your question was posted in 2004, but perhaps I was able to fill in some gaps. Are you related to Blanch. She had some sisters and a brother. His name was John, but they used to call him "Bad Jake." Why, I don't know. Don't remember the sisters names.

Let me know if I was any help. Don't see many questions on the web that I have personal knowledge of. My cousin Jeff, that is Dalee's son has been researching the miles family for a while now, but I haven't talked to him lately. He is a fountain of information. That is who I would go to if you want to go past the information I have provided. But like I said , let me know if I have been any help. Talk to you later.
