In the newspaper, Selma Free Press, published at Selma, Alabama, Dec. 16, 1837: Married, on Tuesday last, Major John Tipton to Mrs. Elizabeth Brown, daughter of Benjamin Tarver, Senior, of Lowndes County. I have no interest in this family and only post this as a resource.
