Lancaster Daily Gazzette Wed, May 28,1919 Mrs. Mary Tarpey Aged 77 Years, succumbed at one-thirty Wednesday morning-She was native of Ireland. Following a five weeks illness due to infirmities of her advanced age, Mrs. Tarpey, aged 77 yeards died at her home, 331 South Maple street at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday morning. The deceased was a native of Ireland having been born in Charles Town in January 1842. She came to this country at the age of 18 years. Four children, one daughter, Mrs. Thomas Sullivan and three sons, Edward, Henry and George, all of this city survive. One sister is living in Ireland. Funeral arrangements have not been completed but services will be held in St. Mary's Catholic church of which the deceased has been a devout member.
