I have a Christian Gotlieb Stanger, b. 4-20-1885 in Shelby County IL (married Florence Viola Shannon b. 6-28-1892) This info is confirmed from several sources, and Christian G. is my husband's maternal grandfather. There are listings for a William & Anna Stanger in the 1880 census for rural Shelby Co IL , listing the following children: John, born 1873 William F. born 1876 Phillip J. born 1878 Rosina F. born 1880 Can anyone confirm or refute that William and Anna are in fact the parents of a Christian Gotlieb Stanger, born 1885??? Also, any other children or siblings for William & Anna.
