Ceylon papers in the National Archives in Colombo and Kew.
The Kew ones found under CO 59/1 to 25. The range is 1832 to 1856.
The titles are in chronological order Colombo Journal, Ceylon Times, Examiner and Colombo Observer.
There are many many more at Newspaper House. 1803 marriage and 1847 death, found in The Hague and India publications!!
Ceylon Government Gazette which has a run from 1813 to 1946 at Kew and earlier ones in Colombo, and in scattered repositories around England. A lot of these are uncut and a problem to read,
Allens Indian Mail in the British Library at the India Office and/or the Newspaper Library.
The NA at Kew is now shut every Monday but there is a late session once a week and they are open on Saturdays. Check their websites for opening times to NA, BL, and Newspaper House and to look at catalogues so you can order before you go and that gives you more time to research.
