Yes I am basically going from his photo and a small amount of info from relatives. I was told he may have gone to cuba in the cavalry. Unfortunately Albert died in 1902. He fell from a scaffold while working on the new Dover Furnace in Ohio. His parents, wife and kids were in Jefferson Co. Tn in 1900. He wasn't listed with them on 1900 census so I thought he was probably working somewhere else. I believe I did find him in Bristol, Va.
You mentioned his veteran status. Sorry for asking but I'm a bit "military challenged": are you saying that if he was in a volunteer unit that this explains why he has no veterans info on his tombstone?
Thanks for your help,
