The Daughters of '98, was chartered in 1938 by the United Spanish War Veterans and is a National Society. The Forts(Chapters) of the National Society are made up of Female Descendants of Spanish American War Veterans of 1898-1902; Accepting Both Collateral and Lineal Ancestry.
You may be eligible for membership if you are a granddaughter, daughter in law, niece or
even cousin of a Spanish American War Veteran who honorably served.

webpage for more information and how to research your ancestor. The Fort itself is nearing Charter

Did you know that in the 1930 Federal Census, there is a Column for Veteran Status; if it says Yes, and
the abbrievation "SP" that means he/she was in the Spanish American War.
Our Dues are low and our ideals high!
