During Arthur's 1st enlistment (1898-1901) he served in Co."I", 9th U.S. Infantry.
During his 2nd enlistment (1917-1919) Arthur graduated from Officer Candidate School as a 2nd Lt., served and saw action in France and was discharged honorably from the Quartermaster Corps with the rank of Captain.
MILITARY SERVICE - Vetran of the Spanish - American War, the Philippine Insurection (wounded in the left forearm at the battle at the Zapote River),
the Boxer Rebellion - China, and served in France during WWI.
SERVICE MEDALS Received - Distinguished Service Cross, McKinley Medal
of Honor, and the Purple Heart.
