My great grandfather, Alberto Verastegui y Trabanco (1850-1928), came to New York from Santander where he was born and died and was buried in San Sebastian Donostia Spain

He became a citizen of the US before 1910 and he was the director of exports to Havana and elsewhere for Babcock and Wilcox

He entered into New York via Ellis Island numerous times due to his work I assume.

He was married originally to a woman who died and he then married my great grandmother Eliza (or sometimes Elizabeth) Carroll (y Silk if you are looking in Spanish records where the mother's name is second) and came from Liverpool (1877-1932) and so you find that there is an Eliza Verastegui traveling with Alberto on all his entries

He had 2 daughters one being my grandmother (paternal)
Emilia Maria Verastegui y Carroll (1897-1991)
and the other married the Duke de Arevelo del Rey in Spain
Maria de la Soledad Verastegui y Carroll (1903-1997)

You can find Alberto Verastegui y Trabanco in the Geneology tree of Carlos Pardo-Manuel de Villena as his father in law but it does not mention any other family.. not even my grandmother, just her sister.

I have family papers that have other Verastegui but I can't link them and the mother name is not mentioned.. there was an Emilia de Verastegui who was my grandmother's Godmother as well as namesake. But I don't know if it was Alberto's sister, mother or aunt, or sister in law. There was also a Lillie Verastegui a few years older than my grandmother - a cousin but I have no second last name

I have been looking for Verategui y Trabanco descendants but have very few clues other than those i listed
