Thanks so much for sending that url. My g-grandfather's brother was in
Company A, 1st Vidette Cavalry. He was James M. NORMAN. I need some advice.

In December 1863, James was in a hospital in Nashville. His mother, a woman
named Litta, brought her other five children from Jackson County, Alabama to
Nashville to be near her son. She died three days after arriving in Nashville
and the children were placed in an orphanage. The orphanage records stated
that her husband, a Federal Soldier had died. Her husband was Daniel NORMAN,
and he died sometime between 1860 and 1863. The orphanage records noted that
his children received a pension years later for their father's military
service. I have tried everything I know how to do to locate the pension
records and have been unable to do so. I can find no records regarding Daniel
NORMAN. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? Any help appreciated.
