The mother of Stephen Cameron, 18th Kentucky Infantry, applied for, and was awarded a pension, in February 1863. The fact that his mother received a pension, rather than a wife, would seem to indicate that he was not married during his service.
If you want to pursue this further, the pension records can be ordered from the National Archives.
