I am looking for anyone who has ancestors that served in Co. M 1st Alabama Cavalry USV. Co. M mustered in in late 1863 in Corinth, Mississippi. I have not been able to find out much about this company's service. My ancestor, Robert G. W. Logan, served with this company. Any help would be appreciated.
Also does anyone have any information about the town of Pikeville in Marion county, AL. It was the county seat until the early 1880's and all of the county records were destroyed in 1887 when the new courthouse in Hamilton burned to the ground. We are cleaning up the old cemetery and hope to restore the old Terrell house that is still there. This is the only house that still exists from the CW period and was built as the original courthouse.
Any help would be appreciated.
